Making Good Use Of Your Marketing Calendar

Are you stocked up with unused marketing ideas that have yet to be implemented due to your always busy schedule? It can sometimes be hard to find the time.
A marketing calendar is the key to helping you have more direction with your plans. This schedule is created for a reason – do not get into the habit of postponing tasks for the next day! Here’s how you can stay on track.
Are these times not the fastest-paced times for business? If so, this could be the perfect time for you to start creating your marketing calendar. Always start with the current things to do, then build on those things.

Now that your marketing calendar is done, have a list of things that are very necessary for you to do. Examples of important things to do would be creating a design for your company’s logo. This can also include writing a press release for a brand new product.

You should have an idea of how many marketing tasks can be done per week. Would one be enough? Two tasks? Can your schedule handle three tasks? Don’t bite off more than you can chew then give up on the schedule – remember to set realistic expectations.

You also may have some tasks on your list reserved for a special time of the year. These special tasks need to be noted and scheduled accordingly.

Some marketing tasks are done on a monthly, weekly or quarterly schedule. Examples of this would be informational ezines or mailing lists. Make sure these things have a place in your calendar.

Everything else would follow after all special tasks are noted. Make sure that all very important tasks have been scheduled already. Move down in order of priority till all tasks are scheduled.

It can be that easy to create your marketing calendar. After the completion of your calendar, make sure you have a system for following these tasks. This is crucial, because you avoid the mistake that many businessmen make, which is waiting until the downtime to market their product. Best of all, this makes even the slower times of business go faster.
